This creation comes from the exciting inspiration during a long trip to Italy, in search of the scent of salt and its infinite facets. The Bel Paese is surrounded by the sea, rich in precious salt and this element has always favored the development of civilizations. Salt has different facets and is not obtained only from marine evaporation, but is extracted from the famous salt quarries, of which Sicily is rich. Akragas was the ancient name of the current Agrigento, a very famous city in southern Sicily, enchanting for its natural beauty and for the stupendous Valley of the Temples, an invaluable and greatly admired heritage since the times of Magna Graecia, impeccably preserved until today. The Greek poet Pindar called Agrakas the “most beautiful city in the world” and this creation is inspired by this breathtaking beauty. Agrigento in its long history has known influences from various populations, from the Magna Greca to the Carthaginians, from the Arabs to the Normans, gathering in itself all the cultural facets capable of coexisting in harmony and serenity, giving us a teaching beauty for everyone. Akragas wants to tell the beauty of this crossroads of cultures and wonders through the salt of its most famous quarry, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub and in enchanted landscapes. The creation opens with a pungent bouquet that immediately evokes the Mediterranean scrub, where we notice the Sicilian myrtle and the Mediterranean seaweed, intensely embraced by the typical citrus fruits of the island, where the royal grapefruit and the unmistakable persuasiveness of Neroli excel above all . This head rests on a heart as strong as the Sicilian land, robust and generous, where the Salt of the Cava of Agrigento is the dominant and reverberating note, emphasized by Atlas Cedar, strongly flavored by Red Thyme and Bulgarian Geranium.
