This is the story of a sensual meeting of two opposing forces: on the one hand, the dusty sensibility of a peach skin of a chypre accord, soaked in Egyptian jasmine oil, and secondly leather of fine saddle skin. Both play me with the sexuality of the whiteness of skin, hair, and coat.
The rich indole jasmine exudes an intoxicating, narcotic feel, but this is offset by classic aldehydes whose peachy, bubbly foaming sends a touch of kinetic energy through the structure of the fragrance. The leather chord, from Castoreum, is dirty enough to raise the eyebrows but is quickly softened by the silken flower notes that play on it like a light breeze. Here and there, the spring rites are broadcast in a beautiful melodic accord of mimosa, honey, and pollen that pollinates the fragrance in a golden, lively aura. Classic and yet extremely naughty and sexy, The Lover’s Tale brings everything to such a satisfying, ambling finale that you think about it when it’s over.
